Teen Backpacking in Katahdin Iron Works

This four-night adventure with our Registered Maine Guides is great for teens who are ready for an immersive experience deep in the Maine woods. This trip will take us off-grid, and we will be carrying all our gear and food to support us for the five days we are in the wilderness.

We will meet in Freeport at Through the Trees on June 12th and ride together in our van to this beautiful area in northern Maine. There will be a moderate level of hiking in regards to difficulty range, hiking 5-6 hours per day on three out of five days of the trip. We will be able to explore the 100-mile wilderness and the trails and many waterfalls of the incredible Gulf Hagas, aka the “Grand Canyon of Maine.” There will be opportunities for swimming, fishing and just chilling in hammocks. We will be sleeping in tents or, if conditions allow, hammocks! Exploring this pristine wilderness will be an amazing experience you won’t soon forget!
