Teen Wilderness Trip - Canoe Basics on Saco River

Join our Registered Maine Guides for a three day and two night paddle on the Saco River! This is the perfect trip for a teens first adventure into the wilderness. After we meet at Through the Trees in Freeport, we will travel as a group to Swan's Falls in Fryeburg where will begin our 11 mile journey along the Saco River. There will be plenty of time to learn the basics of canoeing in a supportive environment on slow moving water. We will take time to learn how to choose and manage a campsite while working together as a team. Along the way from campsite to campsite we will have plenty time to allow for playful stops along the river and time at our campsites to explore. It’s sure to be a blast! Teens do not have to have any prior paddling or camping experience to join us on this trip however they should be able to manage their own gear and a be willing to learn and help manage the aspect of daily life in the wilderness.
