SEPTEMBER CLASS FOCUS: Monarch Butterflies!
On the first Friday of each month, families come together at Through The Trees to become citizen scientists! Our September gathering focuses on learning more about Monarch butterflies and their fall migration South. We will respectfully capture Monarchs and gently tag them for journey. Feel free to bring your own Monarch for release if you have raised one at home. We will have some raised from caterpillars to release too. We will provide containers for students to gather eggs, larvae or caterpillars if you would like to continue the learning at home.
This is not a drop off program. Parents and children learn together. We recommend wearing light colored, light fabric, long sleeve and pants to stay cool and protected. Consider tucking pants into socks and shirts into pants for tick protection. Bring a water bottle and a hat. Bug net and creature keeper are optional. Feel free to bring a picnic lunch and stay after for some playing and socializing.
The program will run from 10am-12pm with an optional BYO lunch and free play until 1pm.
COST: $25 per Family
