Family Star Gazing Evening

Night Sky Observation

Update: If the sky is cloudy, there is still plenty to observe! Unless it is raining/snowing we will likely still hold this event

Join us for a night of star-gazing at Through the Trees (2 Griffin Rd, Freeport, Maine)! We will identify some common constellations and also collect data for a citizen science project measuring light pollution. Families will have the option to contribute more data from home with a take-home activity. Please dress warmly and bring a flashlight for each member of your group. Bring a blanket and picnic dinner. We will have a fire going to warm up or if you need to cook your food, as well as tea to share (bring your own mug!). Feel free to bring any binoculars or telescopes if you wish!

As is with all our events, this class will be held outdoors, so please dress accordingly. If weather is poor, the make-up date will be Saturday, December 9th.
